The firm's sports marketing work encompasses a wide range of activities, from site-specific media relations to athlete representation to event sponsorship organization. Working with races like the Beast 2000 Adventure Racing World Championship, Echo Communications has placed its sports clients in such media as the Wall Street Journal (May 19, 2000), Sports Illustrated, CNN, USA Today, the New York Times and National Geographic Adventure.

President Gordon Wright began his career in San Francisco as Business Manager of the San Francisco Daily Journal. Prior to starting his own firm, he was vice president of EvansGroup San Francisco, a 45-million dollar advertising and public relations firm. Gordon also served on the board of directors of the Public Relations Society of America's San Francisco Chapter. He is a member of the San Francisco Rugby Club and has competed in the Chicago Marathon, Cal-Eco Adventure Race Series and the Hi-Tec ARS, where his team recently placed first in the Corporate Division. Gordon is an honors graduate in History from UCLA and lives in Marin County with his sons and his wife Ginny, an award-winning health and fitness writer.
