Travel Details for EBVI Volunteers
EBVI volunteers are responsible for their own travel arrangements to and from the British Virgin Islands. Once in Tortola, accommodations at Prospect Reef Resort will be provided, as well as a $20 daily food stipend.

All volunteers should plan on arriving no later than December 8, but are encouraged to arrive a few days early to help with setting up the race. Accommodations will be provided during your stay, for the time you are working with the staff on the race. When arranging your travel, plan to leave BVI on December 15 or 16.

If you are planning on arriving PRIOR to December 8, please arrange your travel directly to and from Tortola-Beef Island Airport (EIS). Those who are traveling to the BVI ON December 8 should plan their travel into St. Thomas USVI. From there, racers, volunteers and staff will be boarding ferries that will deliver them to Tortola, and will then be shuttled to the Prospect Reef Resort. All will return to St. Thomas on December 15 in the same manner.

You may contact American Airlines to receive the available EBVI group discount, but be aware that other airlines may offer less expensive fares. To check EBVI's group discounted fares with American follow the below steps:

Flights to Tortola-Beef Island Airport
PRIOR to Saturday, December 8, 2001

  • Call American Airlines at 800-433-1790.
  • Mention authorization code A90N1DH.
  • This gives you a 5% discount off applicable - which essentially means a 5% discount on the lowest current published fares. This is not a great deal so we ask and encourage you to seek the best prices available.

For arrivals to Cyril E. King Airport in St. Thomas USVI
ON Saturday, December 8, 2001

  • Call American Airlines at 800-433-1790.
  • Reference our group authorization number, A55D1AO.
  • This also provides a 5% discount. Make sure they quote you the lowest published fare for the trip, then take off the 5% group discount.

IMPORTANT  Once you have purchased your ticket, please advise Dawn Taylor-Mann of your itinerary as we will need to reserve rooms for the dates of your arrival ASAP. This information is also necessary for coordinating the ferry shuttles.

Remember these important facts when making your arrangements:

  • American Airlines will honor the lowest published rate if the rate is lower than the zone fare listed below.

  • Fares may not be combined with any other special promotion or offer

  • Voluntary changes to the ticket are permitted with an applicable change fee.

  • Once ticket is issued name change is not allowed
